Zen Mind, Beginner’s Mind

In his introduction to these transcriptions of Suzuki's talks, Richard Baker says, “Zen mind is one of those enigmatic phrases to make you notice yourself, to go beyond the words and wonder what your own mind and being are.” These informal talks were given to a small group in California beginning in 1959 and they have become an integral part of spiritual literature in America.
