Translated by Swami Nikhilananda, edited by Andrew Harvey and annotated by Baba-lover Kendra Crossen Burroughs, this collection is based on original records by “M”, one of Ramakrishna's disciples.

Andrew Harvey's introduction describes reading the Gospel of Ramakrishna as “entering into a dance with the great mystic” and “with the One constantly driving him on”.

Meher Baba referred to Ramakrishna as “the Heralder of the Avataric Age” and “a rare type of Sadguru”.
